Solly Krieger was World Middleweight Champion in 1938 and 1939.

A Golden Gloves amateur champion who turned professional in 1928, Krieger did not get a shot at the title until the latter part of his tenth year in the ring. On November 1, 1938, in his ninety-first professional bout, Krieger won the World Middleweight crown by decisioning titleholder Al Hostak. Seven months and eight fights later, Hostak regained the championship. Krieger retired in 1941.

Krieger’s professional record: 112 bouts—won 81 (54 KOs), drew 7, lost 24.
