Brazilian
beach volleyball star Adriana Behar, teaming with Shelia
Bede, won six FIVB (international
beach volleyball federation) Tour titles––five
consecutive years, 1997–2001, and again in 2004.
The pair won World Championships in 1999 and 2001, and
was the world’s #1 ranked team in 2000, 2001 and
2004. Behar & Bede were silver medalists at the 2000
and 2004 Olympic Games––the first repeat medalists
in Olympic beach volleyball. Behar ranks 2nd all-time in
winnings, with $1,030,563. In addition to 33 tournament
victories (in 109 events) Behar-Bede have finished second
26 times, third 21 times and fourth 11 times.
